The first thing you’ll want to do is to take a good look at your fireplace. Is it brand new and not really used? Or is it an antique fireplace that looks like it has seen better days. The key is to match your fireplace tool set to the look of your fireplace. If you have a brand new fireplace and put a set of chewed up fireplace tools on the hearth, they will stand out as an unattractive accessory. On the other hand, if you have an old fireplace, they’ll match perfectly.

When you purchase your tools, try to find them with a holding rack. If, however, you love the tools and there is no rack, look elsewhere to find one that will go along with it. However, if you purchase your tools outside of a set with rack, make sure you purchase the tools that go together and are made from the same material. A matching set of fireplace tools looks much better as a piece of your décor that a mixture simply thrown together.

When it comes to the price of your fireplace tool set, it will depend upon the material. Brass tends to be the most expensive as they have a higher decorative value. However, keep within the budget you’ve allowed and choose one that will match the décor in your home.
